The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar to open in Old Town Alexandria
The self-described "artistic, over-the-top, crazy creation, ultimate dessert destination" is expanding: The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar® announced Monday, that they will be opening a new location this summer in Old Town Alexandria.
The new dessert spot will open at 716 King St. The previous tenant was Hollywood Fashion Wigs.
The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar offers sweet treats of all kinds, specializing in unique milkshakes and sundaes served in keepsake custom designed mason jars.
The original store, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, first opened in June 2020 by husband and wife duo Bo and Sherri Steele. The crazy creations began as a "love of all things sweet and bringing something unique" to their hometown.
The mom-and-pop ice cream shop has quickly grown into a unique dessert destination brand with several locations.
The Alexandria location is the 10th Crazy Mason in the works. The owners of the company's Ellicott City, Maryland location, Erin and Robert Studer, are expanding to Alexandria.
"They love the historic feel of their chosen towns and we couldn’t be happier for them to add a Crazy Mason to the charm of these historic districts in beautiful cities around the DC and Baltimore areas," the Steeles said in a statement.
The Studers "fell in love with the Crazy Mason brand while on a family vacation in Myrtle Beach in 2021," and opened their first location in 2022 in Ellicott City.
"We wanted to bring our crazy treats to the DC metro area, and Old Town Alexandria is one of our favorite places," they said. "With the waterfront, the cosmopolitan feel and the walkable nature of the town, we are so excited to announce our next location on King Street.”
