Meggrolls announced it has closed its restaurant on North Fayette Street.
In a note posted on its front door at 107 N. Fayette St., owner Meg Baroody wrote:
"Holy Moly, friends — what a ride! It has been the greatest pleasure sharing Meggrolls with you all during these past 5 years here on N. Fayette Street. And through the time has come to pack up our wontons and go, I have a funny feeling this won't be goodbye forever."
Baroody went on to praise Alexandria's support for her venture. See the full note below.
Baroody started Meggrolls as a food truck in 2013. She opened the restaurant in Alexandria in 2017. The creative "eggrolls" including chicken parmesan, Buffalo chicken, spicy chorizo poblano and beyond.
Baroody told Alexandria Living Magazine at its first anniversary that Alexandria has been a great fit for her concept, which garners plenty of walk-in traffic on weekends and regular catering orders from local businesses and events.
