If you're a fan of the holiday film "Home Alone," you'll want to make plans to stop by a special speakeasy at Hotel Heron in the heart of Old Town Alexandria at 699 Prince St.
The hotel's speakeasy has transformed itself into a "Home Alone" fans holiday dream this season.
Fans of the film will adore the cocktails like the Filthy Animal! (a spiced colada with housemade Coco Loco); Rockin’ Round Xmas (a bourbon drink with bourbon-infused chocolate mousse); and Keep the Change! (a mix of cinnamon-infused tequila, lime, and agave with a cinnamon-toast rim) while reveling in ‘90s nostalgia.
Hidden beyond the gentle bustle of the Hotel Heron lobby in Alexandria, the always warm and welcoming Francis Hall bar reveals itself as a sanctuary for unhurried conversations and perfectly crafted cocktails.
This luxe yet intimate space with its dramatic tented ceiling, warm jewel tones, and low amber lighting has become what locals lovingly call “Alexandria’s living room.”
Pull up a spot at the burnished brass bar for some of the best handcrafted cocktails in Old Town Alexandria and the DMV. Settle in at velvet banquettes or rich leather seats to catch up with friends while a mix of funk and hip hop or chill jazzy tunes fill the air. Stop by Tuesdays through Saturdays between 5 p.m. and midnight. The bar offers limited reservations, but always has room for our neighbors on a walk-in basis.
