Del Ray Pizzeria is now Del Ray Public House — "a neighborhood restaurant with a roadhouse soul and a deep love for Alexandria," according to Visit Del Ray.
This Del Ray favorite is stepping into its next chapter with the same incredible team, legendary pizza, community events and good vibes, plus a new menu and atmosphere that draws from the high-desert landscapes of the American Southwest and the tradition of the classic public house, Visit Del Ray noted.
On its new Facebook page, Del Ray Public House says: "Welcome to Del Ray Public House, the institution formerly known as Del Ray Pizzeria. We're exploring new frontiers, offering high value steaks and southwest flavors alongside the legendary pizzas and other favorites we've brought the 'hood since 2010."
"Inspired by a love of great steaks and the bold, sun-drenched flavors of her childhood in New Mexico (the Land of Enchantment)," restaurant owner Laurel Fisher created the new concept as a "soulful hybrid: part casual Southwestern Roadhouse, part American Pizzeria and part European Pub."
"While we are keeping the 'Best Pizza in Del Ray' on the menu, we are introducing a bold new frontier of hand-cut steaks and comfort food influenced by Latin American and New Mexican traditions," the eatery's website notes. "It’s a place for everyone, and food for anyone—the next chapter of our storied history on the Avenue."
Some of the menu items at Del Ray Public House include:
Green Chile Fritas Con Queso: Fresh chiles sliced, panko breaded and fried.
The Roswell: Half-pound of patty, fresh onion, cheddar, Hatch green Chile sauce; fries or tots.
Chicken Adovada: Marinated and slow-cooked in NM red Chile sauce; refried beans; Spanish rice.
Diners can also choose from a menu of "steaks your way," including the 32-ounce Four Corners Feast for Two.
