This year, King & Rye, the restaurant that is part of The Alexandrian hotel in Old Town Alexandria, is celebrating its five-year anniversary, pulling out all the stops with a special menu this month and fun giveaways.
Located at 480 King St., the eatery is raising a glass to five flavorful years in Old Town — and they want you to celebrate with them, all month long.
King & Rye is led by Chef Tomas Chavarria who presides over a kitchen that turns out delicious seasonal "slow food", genuine Southern hospitality and fine whiskeys in the heart of Old Town Alexandria.
Here's a look at some of the September specialties on the menu:
Brunch specials
- Brioche French Toast (banana, toasted pecans, salted caramel)
Dinner specials
- Beef Cheek Pot Roast (mashed potatoes, roasted carrots, parsley)
- Cured Duck Breast (grits, roasted parsnip, Bourbon Laquage sauce)
Dessert specials
- Tres Leches Banana Pudding (banana creme anglaise, toasted coconut, Nilla wafer crumble)
- Birthday Sundae (vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, sprinkles, cherry)
Cocktail specials
- Rye to the Occasion (Knob Creek Rye, Disaronno, Angostura Cocoa bitters)
- Whiskey 'n Wishes (Elijah Craig bourbon, Madagascar vanilla syrup, Orgeat, frosting and sprinkle rim)
