Jet's Pizza is planning to open several more Detroit-style pizza restaurants in DC and Northern Virginia.
One of the locations, opening in the next week or so, will be at 6 E. Glebe Road near Arlandria in the closed Auburn Cleaners. The cleaners was located next door to the restaurant Northside 10.
Washington Business Journal reported this week that the person opening the Alexandria restaurant is also looking at possible locations in Belle Haven, Mount Vernon, Franconia, Lincolnia and elsewhere in Northern Virginia.
In addition to Detroit-style pizza, which is on a thick-but-light crust with cheese all the way to the edges, Jet's also serves New York-style pizza, wings and salads.
Eugene Jetts founded the pizza company in 1978 in Sterling Heights, Michigan, north of Detroit. The original location was called Jetts Party Shoppe & Pizzeria.
