French & Southern at the Hyatt Centric is welcoming guests.
The New Hyatt Centric in Alexandria is now open.
With a ribbon cutting Wednesday evening, the hotel at 1611 King Street and its on-site restaurant is welcoming guests earlier than expected. Initial estimates were for the hotel and restaurant to open in March.
Hyatt Centric describes the restaurant, French & Southern, as "capturing influences from Paris to southern United States cuisines to form a worldly menu that will have something for everyone. Imbibe in our robust evening cocktail hour serving craft drinks from our experienced mixologists." The restaurant is open from 6:30 a.m. - 11 p.m.
The hotel is pet-friendly and include a fitness center. Hyatt Centric Hotels are described as "boutique" hotels that bring in work from local artists.
The architect for the project was Cooper Carry Architects, an award-winning firm based in Old Town Alexandria.
Rates for opening nights in early March are $184 to $284.
