This summer, Hilton Alexandria Mark Center reopened its sushi bar following a multi-million dollar renovation of the hotel. Award-winning Chef Kim heads the sushi-making team. Sashimi and creative specialty rolls are served in a “warm, romantic setting” with an “upscale fusion style ambiance.”
The sushi bar also has a ramen counter where guests can customize their own ramen. Visitors can heighten their dining experience with high-end saké such as the Joto “The Blue One” Junmai Nigori or Fu-ki Junmai or a selection of Japanese beers.
“This hotel has been proud to serve the freshest, hand-crafted sushi variety since 2003, however, to bring visibility to this fine art, we decided to re-invent the experience of ‘sushi love’ just a few months back and re-located in the hotel lobby. We are proud to offer the freshest and most creative combinations in Sushi cuisine in this part of Northern Virginia,” said Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverage for the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center Rajeev Sethi.
The sushi bar joins the hotel’s in-house restaurant and bar, Finn and Porter, which serves steak, seafood cocktails and wine in a jazzy, contemporary setting.
The Sushi Bar is located in the hotel lobby at 5000 Seminary Rd. and is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The hotel plans to host a “Sushi is for Lovers” event this fall where couples, friends or family can learn how to make their own sushi from Chef Kim as part of an interactive dining experience.
