The closed-for-renovations Hank's Pasta Bar in Old Town North will reopen in January 2020 as
Hank & Mitzi's Italian Kitchen featuring pizza and shared plates, the company reported this week.
The restaurant, at 600 Montgomery St., gets its name from owner Jamie Leeds' parents, Hank and Mitzi.
The new eatery will be helmed by Executive Chef Will Artley. Artley's impressive resume includes helming BLT Steak in DC, Pizzeria Orso in Falls Church and Evening Star Cafe in Del Ray. He's also participated on the Food Network's "Chopped" cooking show as a finalist.
"Executive Chef Will Artley, and the team at Hank & Mitzi’s Italian Kitchen can’t wait for you to try our selection of rustic entrees, classic Italian cocktails, and our classic and seasonal personal PIZZAS!!!!!!" the restaurant noted on its new Facebook page.
The restaurant will reopen the first week of January and second-story event space and a rooftop bar will open in the spring.
