A new Japanese restaurant will be opening in the Carlyle District.
The soft opening is Sept. 4 for Gin Ramen & Asian Tapas at 500 John Carlyle St.
The space was once home to the Italian Gourmet Deli, but it has been completely renovated with a new kitchen, bar and more.
The menu includes a wide variety of small plates and customizable ramen dishes. Highlights include bao buns, pork belly, rice bowls, and a variety of appetizers.
The couple behind Gin Ramen & Asian Tapas also operate a Japanese restaurant called Tsunami in Frederick, Maryland.
