Lady Camellia Pastry and Tea Room will be relocating to Alexandria, with plans to open in spring or summer 2022.
Deborah and Han Kim initially opened the tea room in Georgetown in February 2014, but closed their doors in July 2020, citing lease issues.
The owners announced the relocation in an email sent to customers this week. The exact location of the tea room was not revealed in the email, but it did say that it will be somewhere along the waterfront in Old Town.
“We have never thought that we would do it all over again but we’ve missed you all so much and cannot wait to serve you again in the tearoom,” the email read.
Since closing its Georgetown location, Lady Camellia has offered local delivery or pickup of its tea, macarons, scones, sandwiches, pastries, clotted cream and jams, including a full tea for two set. Select items are also available for shipping.
In order to focus on opening the new location, Lady Camellia will pause its delivery, pickup and shipping service the end of November, but customers can continue to purchase gift cards through ladycamellia.com.
