If you're a morning person, you're going to love First Watch, a restaurant that serves up breakfast, brunch and lunch, coming to the Crossroads Center shopping center in Bailey's Crossroads.
First Watch will open in the spot formerly occupied by Ruby Tuesday's. The restaurant has not announced an opening date.
First Watch offers traditional favorites, such as pancakes, omelets, sandwiches and salads, alongside specialty items like a fresh juice bar, Farm Stand Tacos, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Quinoa Power Bowls, Avocado Toast and the Chickichanga. You'll be able to dine in, pick up or order delivery using the restaurant's app.
Eat-in diners are greeted with a full pot of coffee, complimentary newspapers and free wifi. In 2018, First Watch began to source its coffee from Huila, Colombia because they want to “support these hard-working women and their families in Huila in 2018.” Royal Cup Coffee, an Alabama-based coffee company, roasts the coffee.
Some of its restaurants, including those in Virginia, offer cocktails on the menu. Some of its signature cocktails include a Pomegranate Sunrise, which features Cameron Tequila, pomegranate, fresh lime and agave nectar. The restaurant also offers brunch classics such as Mimosas and Bloody Marys.
The Bailey's Crossroads restaurant will be located at 5880 Leesburg Pike. Hours will be 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day. First Watch has two other locations in Northern Virginia — in Fairfax and Chantilly and 13 locations statewide in addition to the Bailey's Crossroads location.
The location in Fairfax, according to Yelp, often has a line of people waiting outside to go in, where tables are distanced. Some Yelpers advised adding yourself to the waitlist via the App 15 minutes before you arrive.
There are more than 400 First Watch restaurants located in 29 states. Headquartered in University Park, Florida, the restaurant was founded in 1983 in Pacific Grove, Calif. by John Sullivan and Ken Penderey. The name is a nautical reference to the first work shift aboard a ship.
