With chilly winter temperatures nipping at our noses this winter, a cozy fireplace sounds pretty inviting when selecting an Alexandria restaurant. Here are just a few of the Alexandria eateries offering up relaxing fireside meals and cozy corners. Enjoy!
You’ll find a gorgeous fireplace with a roaring fire in the beautifully decorated Adirondack Room at Clyde’s at Mark Center. Ask for a cozy booth by the fire and enjoy! (Try their chili next time you stop by! We love it.) 1700 N. Beauregard St.
One of the most popular dining locations at the Chart House on Alexandria's waterfront is the lighthouse-style room with the copper fireplace overlooking the Potomac River. It’s an intimate spot where you can relax with a stunning view of the waterfront. Start off with the baked crab dip! End the night with a piece of the eatery’s signature hot chocolate lava cake, great for a chilly night. 1 Cameron St., Old Town waterfront
The elegant, New Orleans-inspired 219 Restaurant is the perfect spot for an intimate date night. The main dining room features a flickering fireplace and offers an elegant range of French Creole cuisine with just enough kick to keep you warm. Check out the delicious She Crab soup! 219 King St., Old Town
If the weather is cooperating or the heat lamps are on, you may catch an outdoor seat at one of the fire-pit coffee tables at Blackwall Hitch on the back patio. If not, enjoy the spark from the lively crowd inside and keep an eye out for live music nights. Enjoy views of the Potomac River while you’re dining on one of their popular fire-roasted flatbread pizzas. Waterfront, 1 Cameron Street, Old Town
Off the beaten path of Old Town, Cedar Knoll is a locally owned gem. Request a seat near the fireplace in the President’s Room or the Cabin Room, which dates back to the 1800s and features a historic stone fireplace. 9030 Lucia Lane, Fort Hunt
112 King St., Old Town With four separate “snugs” in this classic Irish gathering place, you’re sure to find a cozy corner for a drink with friends this winter. The restaurant has several working fireplaces complementing the dark wood interior with quiet booths and tables.
You can see the fires roaring as you drive past Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza and Tap near the Braddock Metro Station. Sit at the bar by the pizza oven for extra warmth or step outside to one of the tables near the roaring fire-pit. The menu includes plenty of winter goodness, including house-made pastas (and, of course, pizzas). 401 E. Braddock Rd., Del Ray
