Fiona's in Kingstowne
Fiona's Irish Pub in Kingstowne closed without warning this month.
A sign on a door at the popular venue reads, "Due to circumstances beyond our control, Fiona's Irish Pub is permanently closed."
An employee at an adjacent store said he didn't know what caused the closure.
The restaurant had opened in 2014, taking the place of King Street Blues.
The Crystal City location of Fiona's on 23rd Street in Arlington is also closed, but that closure is temporary and Fiona's will reopen after some issues with the building are addressed, Covering the Corridor reported.
The owner of Fiona's is exiting the company.
Fiona's in Kingstowne was a community staple, hosting multiple fundraisers for nonprofit organizations (including Alexandria's Ballyshaners, which produces the annual St. Patrick's Parade) and having live music regularly.
