If you love ice cream (and brownies, cookies and candies), there's a new desert place to check out.
Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar, after a few construction delays, opened at 716 King St. earlier this month.
The venue describes itself as an "artistic, over-the-top, crazy creation, ultimate dessert destination." Example: A full-size chocolate milkshake with a generous, rich brownie on top, chocolate mouse, a Hershey chocolate bar, whipped cream and more.
"As delicious as it was, and as much as I love chocolate, it was rich. I could’ve used some help from a friend. As a kid, I would have loved sharing this with a parent," noted a Washington Post review this week. The writer left with a to-go box.
The original store, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, opened in June 2020 by husband and wife team Bo and Sherri Steele.
The ice cream shop has quickly grown into a unique dessert destination brand with several locations. The owners of the company's Ellicott City, Maryland location, Erin and Robert Studer, opened the Alexandria location.
"We wanted to bring our crazy treats to the DC metro area, and Old Town Alexandria is one of our favorite places," the Studers said in a statement earlier this year.
