The popular Café 44 in Old Town North will be undergoing some changes this year — including a change of name.
Café 44 plans to add 7,500 sq. ft. to its footprint at 44 Canal Center Plaza.
The addition will include a raw bar and charcuterie bar in addition to a renovation of the current space. There will be more seating, space for private events and even better views of the Potomac River, according to the restaurant.
When the changes are complete, Café 44 will be called Jula's on the Potomac, named after a member of the founder's family.
The renovations are already "well underway" according to the restaurant. The architect is //3877. The general contractor is TEEL Construction.
