A shave ice cafe will open on King Street later this year.
Alexandria is getting a new shave ice cafe.
The Big Kahuna Cafe, which will serve shave ice, smoothies and other items, will open at 716 King St. this fall.
The Big Kahuna Cafe will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and is hiring for all positions (apply here).
Shave ice (not shaved ice) originated in Hawaii and is made by shaving ice into a cup and adding different flavors or syrups.
According to property records, the owner of the new cafe is also the owner of Hollywood Fashion Wigs at 718 King Street and Crown Wigs, located just a few doors down at 706 King St.
