A new Amazon Fresh grocery store opened Thursday at 5811 Crossroads Center Way in the Bailey's Crossroads neighborhood.
The grocery store replaces a former Safeway and is located in between Golf Galaxy and Staples.
The store includes the Dash Cart shopping option. This smart cart can search for items and direct you to them within the store, provide a live receipt, weigh your produce, etc., Amazon explains. When you are finished shopping, you walk the cart through a designated lane in the store and the cart will automatically check you out using the payment information stored in your Amazon account.
The Bailey’s Crossroads joins stores in Franconia and Potomac Yard in Alexandria. The Bailey's Crossroads store has been in the works for several years and was one of the locations that was put on pause while Amazon re-evaluated its real estate in 2023.
