Alexandria food companies are among the finalists for the 2020 RAMMY Awards.
The 38th annual Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington RAMMY Awards finalists include Arcadia Farm and Logan Sausage Co. — both are finalists in the Regional Food and Beverage Producer of the Year category.
The Arcadia Center for Sustainable Food and Agriculture in Southeast Fairfax County focuses on sustainable food production, education and career development.
Logan Sausage Co. in Alexandria’s West End, a family-owned company, provides sausages to restaurants and grocery stores throughout the region. (It’s also the official sausage of Capital One Arena and the University of Maryland.
In addition, Jamal Flowers, of Rocklands Barbeque and Grilling Co. here in Alexandria is a finalist for manager of the year.
Stomping Ground in Del Ray is finalist for Favorite Gathering Place of the Year.
Although we can’t gather, the public is invited to vote in a few select categories on the RAMMYs website, including Favorite Gathering Place of the Year. Voting will start later this spring.
The restaurant association will announce winners in late July.
