The Monticello Wine Trail has announced the 2026 Monticello Cup Medal Winners, celebrating excellence in winemaking across the Monticello AVA (American Viticultural Area) and showcasing the quality, diversity and momentum of Virginia wine.
Organized by wine educator and writer Frank Morgan, this year’s Monticello Cup competition brought together standout wines from across the region, evaluated by an accomplished panel of wine professionals and industry leaders.
From sparkling wines and vibrant whites to structured reds and reserve bottlings, these Gold Medal winners represent some of the finest wines being produced in Virginia today.

The celebration continues Friday, June 26 at the Gold Medal Celebration at Boar’s Head Resort during Monticello Wine Week, where guests will have the opportunity to taste Gold Medal-winning wines from more than 25 wineries during an elevated cookout-style evening featuring live music, Virginia food and the live announcement of the 2026 Monticello Cup winner and Case Winners.
Awards will be presented by Monticello Wine Trail President George Hodson, Monticello Cup organizer Frank Morgan and Virginia Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry Kate Frazier.
