1799 Prime Steak and Seafood could be opening at the former Restaurant Eve at 110 S. Pitt St.
A permit to demolish the interior of the restaurant is also hanging in the window alongside an application for an alcohol permit. The building was formerly home to the well-loved Restaurant Eve, which closed its doors after 14 years in business in June 2018.
White Star Investments purchased the building, which also contains office and residential space, in 2019, with plans to find an upscale restaurant tenant. The restaurant and courtyard patio area have been empty until now.
According to the Virginia State Corporation Commission, Jahmond Quander is behind 1799 Prime Steak and Seafood and its parent company, Irrived Hospitality Inc.
Quander previously worked as General Manager at The Blackwall Hitch. He was also previously Director of Food and Beverage Operations at George Washington’s Mount Vernon. Quander’s LinkedIn profile lists him as the CEO of 1799 Prime Steak and Seafood as of March 2022.
Quander was unable to provide a comment due to travel, but looks forward to providing more information on the new restaurant in the coming weeks.
