The Roots - Unpacking Race & Racism in Everyday Terms

ACT for Alexandria invites you to join us to learn more about The Roots - Unpacking Race & Racism in Everyday Terms. This session is presented by the Equity Through Action and sponsored by Dyson Capital.

In this virtual webinar, we will explore key concepts to help participants develop and enhance their understanding of race and racism as constructs and how these constructs are used as structural and societal barriers. Participants will be introduced to the historical, cultural and operational analysis of racism. Additionally, this session will examine how individuals are socialized in racialized environments and how identity influences responses to benefits and consequences of racial-cultural social systems. Participants will be provided with a review of key racial equity grounding terms to aid in their understanding.

• Grounding Definitions & Everyday Terms
