Let's Talk About It at Carlyle Crossing
In this day of virtual everything, community has transcended geography. But what about the power of the local community? How can we both encourage our geographically close community to stay connected now that we have seen the ease of building community across the world?
Join Jessica Buchanan and Jessica Kidwell, from the local podcast We Should Talk About That, for an interactive conversation on community and connectedness at Carlyle Crossing.
Set in the brand-new Reese building featuring a “TED Talk-style” event space and stage, guests are invited to enjoy light fare and wine, along with tours of the building’s model apartment and exciting amenities, all accompanied by sweeping views of the surrounding Alexandria area.
About We Should Talk About That Podcast:
NYT bestselling author Jessica Buchanan and fellow writer Jessica Kidwell found they are mutually drawn to unpacking uncomfortable topics and they enjoy talking about things no one else is really talking about- but definitely should!
Jessica Buchanan is the NYT bestselling author of ‘Impossible Odds’, a memoir that details her 93days in captivity in Somalia, and her dramatic rescue by SEAL Team VI. She is a TEDx speaker and women's empowerment coach. Jessica believes in the power of nature to heal whatever ails us, and when she is not traveling the country speaking, or voraciously consuming books in preparation for the podcast, you will almost always find her traipsing around in the woods.
Jessica Kidwell is a podcast host of WeSTAT as well as Neuroversity, a weekly podcast about neurodiversity with a purpose to expand our understanding of what that term means, elevate the life experiences of the neurodivergent, and advocate for a more inclusive and informed culture. She believes that you never know where life will lead you and that staying open to possibilities is the only way to live. When she is not editing or promoting the podcast, she loves spending time with her family and friends and not being in charge of deciding what’s for dinner.
It is their deepest desire to model connection through the vulnerability that is produced by having hard conversations, so that others may feel less isolated and alone.
