Party for the Arts is a free event that includes music, theater, dance, poetry, and visual art from artists throughout Alexandria, including the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic, the Local Motion Dance Project, Alexandria Citizens Band and many more!
This Saturday, Oct. 8 from 4 – 7 p.m., the Gallery at Canal Center will officially open its doors and kick of National Arts & Humanities Month with “Party for the Arts.” Held inside the new gallery space and across the plaza, the free event includes music, theater, dance, poetry, and visual art from artists throughout Alexandria, including the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic, the Local Motion Dance Project, Alexandria Citizens Band and many more! Gallery at Canal Center events will continue to provide a collaborative platform to promote the city’s arts and culture sector as it recovers from the pandemic; and highlight the arts’ power to inspire, spark change, and contribute to a vibrant, thriving, and inclusive city.
National Arts & Humanities Month is coordinated by Americans for the Arts, the national organization working to empower communities with the resources and support necessary to provide access to the arts for everyone.
