Internationally acclaimed, Kazakh - American Opera Singer TIMUR, who has appeared on worldwide stages from LA Philharmonic, Hawaii Opera Theater, Sarasota Opera, Santa Cecilia Academy, Utah Opera, Long Beach Opera, Astana Philharmonic, Palace of the Arts Budapest, LA Opera and others will be performing next month in Washington, DC on February 8th at 7:30 pm at the Embassy of France. Described by the Los Angeles Times as an “extravagantly transgressive tenor" with "a stratospheric voice,” Kazakh-American vocalist TIMUR will pay a unique musical tribute to such charismatic Russian performers as Alexander Vertinsky, Ivan Kozlovsky, Sergei Lemeshev and Vadim Kozin.Accompanied by pianist Genadi Zagor, who will also perform solo improvisations, TIMUR will sing a rare selection of romantic melodies from the songbooks of these legendary entertainers, who captivated opera, concert hall and cabaret audiences throughout the 20th century.And as a special treat, our last minute addition to the program is Anna Kusner, guitar.
