Living Modern - Building Community: The Architecture of Charles Goodman
This September, we invite you to immerse yourself in the world of mid-century modern architect and former Alexandria resident, Charles M. Goodman.
Goodman was an Alexandria-based architect responsible for innovative residential communities like Hollin Hills in Alexandria, beautifully designed custom homes such as the Sevareid House, and the historic Terminal 1 at Reagan National Airport.
We will explore his role in the mid-century modern movement, his legacy on architecture in the DC region, and visit his custom works and iconic neighborhoods on tours. And don't miss the mid-century hip cocktail party we are hosting Saturday night!
Mid-century modern enthusiasts, architects, and history buffs will enjoy uncovering more about this hugely influential yet little-known man who shaped modern living in the DC area.
Date: September 13-15, 2024
Location: Arlington and Alexandria, VA and various Goodman neighborhoods in the DMV
