In celebration of International Women's Day ALX Community has invited Women's Empowerment Coach (and Kidnapping survivor and ALX Community Member!) Jessica Buchanan to share one of her hardest life lessons- the devastating effects of ignoring your intuition and choosing not to speak your truth.
About the TALX:
Through storytelling and research, Jessica will speak on her lessons learned, both during captivity and after, on the power of listening to your gut and standing up for yourself. She will inspire you to move into a space of empowerment as you learn to listen, understand and trust the direction of your truth, even when it feels hard and scary. Jessica will offer actionable takeaways to empower you to move from the desert of repetitive self-abandonment to the radical mountaintop of self-love.
About the Founder:
Jessica’s ordeal is detailed in her New York Times bestselling book, Impossible Odds: The Kidnapping of Jessica Buchanan and Her Dramatic Rescue by SEAL Team Six. Jessica has been named one of the ‘150 Women Who will Shake the World’ by Newsweek, and her story was the most highly viewed 60 Minutes episode to air, to date. Jessica is a highly sought-after inspirational speaker and her TEDx Pearl Street talk, ‘Change is Your Proof of Life’ has been the foundation for which she travels the world, inspiring audiences to access their resilience by identifying their own autonomy and choice in the middle of their own life changing event.
Jessica is also the host of the popular conversational podcast, We Should Talk About That where she and her co-host, Jessica Kidwell, attempt to unpack the uncomfortable topics that nobody is talking about, but definitely should. She also empowers women through her group coaching program, “The Project You Collective”, to speak their truth by turning their life’s low points into talking points, and supports individuals through her individual coaching services, “Soul Speak” helping businesses and brands connect their soul expression with their work.
Jessica resides in Alexandria, VA with her Swedish husband, and two children- and when she isn’t doing all the other things listed above, she can be found traipsing around in the woods with her kids.
For those who are not able to attend in person, please tune in to the ALX Community Facebook page for a live streaming!
