This Tuesday, Dec. 31 is First Night in Alexandria!
The streets of Old Town and other neighborhoods will have celebrations from restaurant specials to fireworks, performances and more.
According to the First Night organization: "On Tuesday, Dec. 31, the festivities begin at 2 p.m. with engaging performances for children and a day party for all ages. At 6 p.m., enjoy a spectacular family-friendly fireworks display over the waterfront before diving into an evening of live music, comedy, and more on 12 stages scattered throughout the charming streets of Old Town inside museums, churches, retail spaces, and other unique venues."
Wristbands are required for all indoor events.

For the best experience, the organization recommends buying tickets and picking up your wristband in advance on Saturday or Sunday, Dec. 28 and 29. More information about wristband pickup is available here.
Headliners include Earth, Wind and Fire Tribute Band, Common Ground Band, Culture Queen, The Irish Breakfast Band, Mike Rose Magic and more.
Tickets will be available for purchase until 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31.
Fireworks will launch at 6 p.m. and again at midnight. The best viewing points for fireworks are:
