It’s “Labor Day Week” and at Nepenthe Gallery we are showcasing the artist Willem de Kooning. De Kooning was commissioned to design public murals as part of FDR’s Works Progress Administration (WPA) program in the 1930s. The experience of working on this important project spurred him to pursue making art as a full-time career. A labor of love! Come to Nepenthe to see one of de Kooning’s pieces.
