Join the AWLA for their first-ever Pets & People Community Wellness Event, taking place on Saturday, May 15, in the courtyard of the Ruby Tucker Family Center at 322 Tancil Court, from 10 a.m. to noon. This event will provide wellness services for humans as well as animals, and we will be partnering with human service providing organizations including ALIVE!, the Alexandria Health Department, Senior Services of Alexandria, RPCA, Alexandria DVIP and more.
Pre-registration is NOT required, and services for attendees of this event include FREE rabies, distemper and parvovirus vaccines for cats and dogs; pet food and supplies; registrations for the COVID vaccine; a bag of shelf-stable groceries; basic pet grooming and nail trims and more. (Please note that supplies and services may be limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis).
Local and national best practices for COVID safety will be observed, including safe physical distancing, and all attendees will be required to wear masks. Do not attend if you are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID.
Dog owners must bring dogs on leash; all cats must be safely contained in a carrier.
