To celebrate the “wonder people,” the donors, volunteers, and staff who keep Alexandria nonprofits providing essential and enriching services and experiences, the Alexandria Film Festival is hosting a free virtual screening of the documentary “Wonder Women,” which traces the birth, evolution, and legacy of Wonder Woman and introduces audiences to a dynamic group of fictional and real-life super heroines fighting for positive role models for girls, both on screen and off. Now celebrating its 15th anniversary, the Alexandria Film Festival is only possible year after year due to the generosity of volunteers, sponsors, and donors. The festival will be joining other non-profit organizations during this month's Spring2ACTion seeking donations to support festival programming, with the annual film festival taking place this November.
With their gifts through Spring2ACTion, donors support the festival’s mission of “presenting films as a vital part of the diverse and dynamic art scene in Alexandria,” as well as providing content for all film lovers. For the festival’s 5th year participating in Spring2Action, it has set a goal of $5,000. “If you love film andwant to continue the Alexandria Film Festival, visit our Spring2ACTion webpage,” urged the festival’sExecutive Director Patti North.
