Annual parade in Old Town Alexandria celebrates George Washington.
George Washington would have been 292 years old this month.
Washington, the first president of the United States who lived at Mount Vernon, is celebrated every February in Alexandria with a variety of events, competitions and symposiums — and a big parade.
The parade is Monday, Feb. 19, and the 2024 parade theme is George Washington: Alexandria’s Original Living Legend.
The parade starts at 1 p.m. at the corner of Gibbon and Fairfax streets, travels north on Fairfax, west on Queen, and south on Royal, ending at the corner of Wilkes Street.
