The Alexandria Beautification Commission will hold its 2019 Beautification Awards Ceremony to recognize and celebrate residents, businesses, organizations and communities for their outstanding efforts in contributing to the beautification of the City of Alexandria.
Awards will be given for Excellence in Architecture, Excellence in Sustainable Design, Residential Beautification, Commercial Beautification, Community Beautification and Green Practices in Beautification. Mayor Justin Wilson and members of City Council will present the awards.
The event will feature a keynote by Joan Honeyman, ASLA, Owner of Jordan Honeyman Landscape Architecture, and Adjunct Professor of Sustainable Landscape Design at George Washington University. Her work has been featured in Architectural Digest, Washington Spaces, ArchitectureDC, and Home and Design Magazine, and published in Dream Homes Greater Washington, DC and Home Outside: Creating the Landscape You Love by Julie Moir Messervy.
The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
