Doyle’s Outpost LLC is continuing to work toward bringing an arcade, laser tag and virtual reality attraction to Alexandria’s West End.
The company filed a special use permit request earlier this year to take over space next to Planet Fitness — a 15,400 square-foot underground facility that was once AMF Seminary Lanes bowling alley.
That bowling alley closed in 2005 and the space has been vacant ever since. The new business would share a lobby with Planet Fitness, which would continue operations.
The new venue would include food and alcohol sales — specifically, “Food offerings will include items such as appetizers, pizza, sandwiches, salads and desserts. Beverage offerings will include soft drinks, beer, wine and mixed drinks to provide a range of options for patrons,” according to an Alexandria City Council staff report.
The shopping center off of Kenmore Road also include’s an Aldi’s grocery store, CVS, Suntrust Bank, 7-Eleven, a dry cleaner and other businesses. It is located near the intersection of Seminary Road and I-395.
Below are plans submitted to the Alexandria City Council from the facility's architects, a New York firm.
