Wegmans Food Markets is hosting a virtual hiring event Tuesday, Oct. 12, seeking to fill more than 350 part- and full-time positions across 14 stores throughout the Virginia area, including the Wegmans opening in spring 2022 at 150 Stovall St., in Alexandria's Carlyle neighborhood, the company announced.
Available positions include customer service roles across the store – merchandising, front-end, culinary, perishable departments, and pharmacy. All interviews for this event will be conducted virtually, via phone, with no video included.
The hiring event is slated for Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Anyone interested in an interview should submit an online application in advance of the hiring event. A member of the Wegmans hiring team will contact applicants to schedule a time for the phone interview.
The Carlyle store will employ approximately 450 people, most of whom will be new to the company and hired locally. Of these, there are 150 full-time positions available.
- Onboarding and training will begin in late Fall 2021
- Prior to the store opening, training will take place at existing Wegmans store locations in Northern Virginia
Wegmans Carlyle-Alexandria is part of Carlyle Crossing, a 1.7 million square foot development including commercial, residential, and retail facilities. The 81,300 square-foot store will include a Market Café, a bar and coffee shop, and The Burger Bar, a family-friendly, casual restaurant counter that serves burgers, sandwiches and fries. The site will have two levels of parking below, residential units above, and is also steps from the Eisenhower Ave. Metro stop.

- Shift Leader (Many positions available across their Perishable, Merchandising, Service, and Culinary/Restaurant Departments within the store)
- Front End Supervisor
- Bakery Supervisor
- Kitchen Team Member (Lead Cook, Line Cook, and Prep Cook positions available)
- Overnight Replenishment Associate
- Product Stocker
- Grocery Associate (positions in Bakery, Produce, Seafood, Meat, Deli, Cheese, Floral, and more!)
- Food Service Worker (positions in Pizza, Sushi, Burger Bar, and more!)
- Custodian
- Dishwasher
- Bartender
- Barista
