After 50 years in business, The Irish Walk in Old Town Alexandria is closing.
Owner Patty Theobald announced the decision on Facebook Monday. The store will close July 31.
The store started on South Washington Street under the ownership of the Butler family. The Troy family moved the store to King Street. Current owner Patty Theobald took the helm in 2008.
"The Irish Walk tries to bring a little slice of heaven, known as Ireland, to Old Town Alexandria, VA. We carry a wide range of products from Ireland starting with Aran sweaters and going down the way to Waterford Crystal, with plenty of items in between," according to the store's website.
The Irish walk is located at 415 King Street.
