Shop Made in VA has opened in Old Town, at 1121 King St.
The sister store to Shop Made in DC features items from microbusinesses, makers, crafters and others who make creative items, few of whom could stand up a retail store on their own.
"Founded by Stacey Price of People Make Place and Michael Babin of Neighborhood Restaurant Group, Shop Made in Virginia is dedicated to showcasing the talents of VA-based designers, artists, and makers," according to the store.
The shop local movement has been gaining steam, particularly during the pandemic when supply chain issues started to delay shipments and consumers started to rally more strongly around local businesses.
Shop Made in VA features more than 120 makers from all over Virginia. Opening weekend, Nov. 12 - 14, will include free classes, DIY opportunities and more.
