The bookstore's soft opening was Friday, and the grand opening is set for Thursday, Nov. 14.
The store located on the second floor of 103 S. St. Asaph St., above Madam Coco's and Little Birdies.
The shop started with an Indiegogo campaign by business owner Jamie Fortin, who started reading romance novels for fun during the pandemic.
The bookstore will have a variety of genres within the romance category, including disabled representation, small town romance and beyond.
"We really want to give a little something for everybody and create a community that’s welcoming for everybody,” Fortin said.
Fortin is still working full time at her day job and has employees running the store during the week. She plans to add book clubs, author events, book release parties and event with local authors, too.
Fortin is originally from San Diego and moved to the D.C. area about five years ago.
