The Patagonia store on King Street in Old Town Alexandria officially opened its doors this week.
Patagonia took over the Old Town Theater space at 815-1/2 King St. last year. Public pressure led them to keep the iconic Old Town sign on the marquee above the doors — and put the Patagonia sign below it.
The company tried to keep many elements of the theater's interior, recognizing its history and importance to Alexandria residents.
Patagonia sells outdoor sports equipment and clothing and is focused on promoting environmental responsibility.
The store's hours will be noon - 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday; the store is closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
