Plans for a new 4,500-square foot office building in Del Ray — the future headquarters for Bonaventure Realty Group — are coming up June 4 before the Alexandria Planning Commission.
Founded in 1999, Bonaventure has built or acquired almost $500 million in apartment communities totaling nearly 4,500 apartments. Its portfolio of properties includes The Encore Apartments at 2215 N. Pickett St. in Alexandria. The company is moving its headquarters from Shirlington to Del Ray. Bonaventure CEO Dwight Dunton is a graduate of T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria.
The site at 2903 Mount Vernon Ave. is the former home of Anthony's Auto Center, built in 1947; the 1,800-square foot building would become a one-story office building. The applicant is proposing to renovate the existing service garage by adding an addition and converting the building into an office building. The lot size is 10,352 square feet.
