Made in ALX will be opening a new store and workshop space at 415 King St. this weekend.
The store had been open on Montgomery Street in Old Town North for more than two years before closing in October to move to King Street.
Made in ALX is focused on showcasing and selling art and handmade products crafted by 50 Alexandria-based artists. Items include jewelry, ceramics, glass, woodworks, original art, candles and more.
In addition, Made in ALX has become known for creative workshops and classes, free craft events for kids, and hosting artist pop-ups.
Beth Lawton, who is also currently publisher of Alexandria Living Magazine) started Made in ALX with Lore Burek online in 2020 as a way to connect residents with local artists, creators and makers when many of them were unable to pop-up due to the pandemic.
The official opening day is Saturday, Nov. 16, and a ribbon-cutting is scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 20.
