A new destination for state-of-the-art entertainment, Doyle’s Outpost, is set to open in mid-December in Alexandria’s West End. Previews start Dec. 16 and a VIP party is set for Dec. 20.
Doyle's Outpost will open next to Planet Fitness in the Seminary Plaza Shopping Center, in the space formerly occupied by AMF Seminary Lanes bowling alley, which closed in 2005.
Doyle’s Outpost is a "social entertainment venue catering to adults featuring a two story themed state of the art laser tag arena, a modern arcade with integrated debit card system and redemption prizing, virtual reality attractions, and full service dining and drinking," according to the company.
Owner Kevin Fagan, who is the former owner of the Planet Fitness gym located next door, said, “High tech entertainment centers are great draws where groups of friends can experience a more social atmosphere. We are creating a space that is especially interesting and accessible to our active millennials. I am very excited for the opportunity to bring Doyle’s Outpost to Alexandria.”
The main feature will be a 5,500 sq. ft., two-story Battle for DC-themed laser tag arena. In addition, Doyle's Outpost will feature fully immersive games through several Hologate Virtual Reality Stations.
Numerous popular arcade games will fill the rest of the venue along with a large sports bar and restaurant with at least two dozen HDTVs. The restaurant and bar will feature top-notch drinks and a unique cocktail menu in addition to plenty of food.
The hours will be 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays, 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sundays.
