On Saturday, Oct. 4, the beloved Old Town Alexandria stationery store will host their first-ever event where customers can stop by and create their own freshly sharpened pencil bouquets, combining the charm of analog writing tools with the romantic spirit of the season.
"We are beyond thrilled to bring this event to our customers and fellow fans of the film,” said Amy Rutherford, owner of Penny Post. “We just love Alexandria - and New York - in the fall and are excited to bring this event to life,” added Rutherford, echoing the famous line from the 1998 film starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.
The shop's "You've Got Mail” celebration captures the movie's appreciation for the written word, small businesses and the simple pleasures of autumn.
During the Oct. 4 event, revelers will have access to a curated selection of Penny Post's favorite pencils available à la carte, allowing them to craft personalized bouquets that celebrate both function and beauty. Each pencil bouquet purchase will include a special complimentary gift while supplies last, and guests can expect other delightful surprises throughout the day that would make even Joe Fox smile.
