When it comes to choosing the right company to handle two of the biggest elements of your life—your home and your money—there needs to be complete trust.
That’s something Elizabeth Lucchesi learned early on in her career as a real estate agent. If she could develop a close relationship with her clients, and get to know their hopes and dreams, helping them land the perfect home, or sell their home for the price they want, then doing her job would not only be easier, but also a greater pleasure.
“I like to think of myself as impacting the lives of others, but doing it one-on-one,” Lucchesi says. “People need food, clothing and shelter–and I help people with one of those three basic needs. I get to do that, which is kind of neat.”
Earning the trust of hundreds of clients has propelled The Liz Luke Team (as Lucchesi’s business is known) to great success in the Alexandria area. Her team now does more than $65 million in business annually. Grateful for that success, Lucchesi and her business support many causes, such as local schools, the Boys & Girls Clubs, organizations like Together We Bake and Running Brooke, and much more. She also serves on the Board of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce. She was named the 2017 small business philanthropist of the year by Volunteer Alexandria.
Prior to becoming a Realtor, Lucchesi worked for JPI, a luxury apartment community building company. She attended James Madison University in Harrisonburg, and moved to Del Ray in 1993, where she still lives. She has been a Realtor for 15 years.
In addition to the important relationship she forms with her clients, there’s the trust she places in a few other important persons she works with—the six team members she employs, and her banker, John McManus of Access National Bank.
Lucchesi says putting her trust in Access National Bank and her employees allows her to focus on what really matters—her clients, and helping them achieve their dreams.
“I’m at my best when I’m meeting with clients, and negotiating their contracts. So having someone in charge of operations, someone in charge of marketing my brand, and someone in charge of marketing my listings makes a big difference,” she explains. “ I can’t do it all by myself–it’s a collaboration.”
And being able to fully trust her business’s finances to McManus gives her peace of mind, she says.
“Collaborating with Access National Bank and John is an integral part of my day-to-day operations,” she explains. “No matter what I need, he always says, ‘Yes, I can do it.’ It’s nice to know he holds himself and his business to the same standards as I do.”
McManus and Luke met and became friends in a local BNI (Business Networking International) networking group. They both say they recognized the other as a consummate professional who cared about the people the clients they work with.
“It all started with me developing trust in him, and him in me,” Luke recalls. “I transferred over all of my business’s assets to Access National Bank, where he was—because I believe in him, and it’s a personal relationship.”
“Since then, I’ve helped him buy a house, he has referred me to several people, and it’s just been great,” she says.
McManus says he feels the same way about Luke.
“I trust Liz 1000 percent because I know she always does things the ‘right way,’ and holds her team and herself to the highest moral and ethical standards,” he says. “And I respect how she is passionate about using her business success to be a positive influence in the community.”
Luke says she is always amazed at how the staff at Access National take the time to get to know every customer.
“I don’t go in there that often, but they always remember me. I don’t know how they do it,” she says. “But everyone loves to hear their name; it feels great, and makes me feel special.”
In all, Luke says she has been incredibly blessed to have experienced such success in her business, and knows she couldn’t have done it alone.
“I pinch myself regularly, when I realize that this has been such a successful journey for myself, my family, and the community I serve.”
