Women's apparel company Dressbarn is closing all of its locations nationwide — including the one in Kingstowne and the store at Seven Corners.
As of now, no closing date has been set.
"For more than 50 years, we have been proud to be your go-to fashion destination, providing a great selection at tremendous value. From working women to mothers on the go, we have been there for our customers – for their everyday needs as well as their most special occasions. On behalf of the entire Dressbarn team, we would like to express our deepest gratitude for your loyalty and your business," a statement on the Dressbarn website said.
The announcement came Monday from the Ascena retail group, a company that owns the brands such as Ann Taylor and Loft. The company announced that the women’s apparel brand Dressbarn has planned to close all 650 locations.
Analytists expect the decision to improve Ascena’s overall financial performance by focusing on its most profitable brands, positioning the business for long-term growth, and enhancing shareholder value, the company said.
The Ascena retail group, a national specialty retailer offering women’s apparel, shoes, and accessories, operates approximately 3,500 stores throughout the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico.
The first Dressbarn opened in Stamford, Connecticut in 1962.
