ALX Community announced this week the launch of Career Catalyst, a four-week, in-person career recovery program designed specifically for federal employees in Alexandria impacted by recent government layoffs.
Hosted at ALX’s coworking space in Old Town Alexandria, the program combines expert career guidance, peer support and real-world resources to help attendees transition from job loss to job found.
Each Thursday evening from April 24 through May 15, participants will join expert-led sessions from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by a casual happy hour and networking from 7 to 8 p.m. Speakers include recruiters, career coaches, hiring managers and HR leaders who will offer practical advice on job searching, resumes, interviewing, networking and salary negotiation.
With interactive sessions, actionable takeaways, and access to expert resume reviewers, Career Catalyst offers a safe, human-centered space to regroup, rebuild and reconnect.
“This program is our way of wrapping our arms around the public servants who’ve done so much for this region and our country,” said Kelly Grant, COO ALX Community.
