This year is the 10th year the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center is turning to ICE!
"Christmas on the Potomac" is open through Jan. 1, 2019, and includes a Christmas village, a 55-foot uspended holiday tree, 2 million holiday lights and an indoor snowfall in the 19-story glass atrium. The famous ICE! — a walk-through space with colorful ice sculptures — is also open.
Alexandria Living Magazine Photo Editor Chris Militzer visited before Thanksgiving (see his photos above).
This year’s ICE! theme focuses on the Peanuts holiday story, "A Charlie Brown Christmas" by Charles Schulz. ICE! includes 2 million pounds of colorful, larger-than-life ice sculptures hand-carved by 35 artisans from Harbin, China.
National Harbor also has a Christmas carousel, ice skating, gingerbread decorating, visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus and more this season.
